USHA Mentorship Program

Supporting and Advancing Wildland Fire Leaders

The US Hotshots Association is exploring the creation of a structured mentorship program to connect experienced Hotshots with those seeking to build their careers in wildland fire. This initiative aligns with our core pillars: Support, Preserve, and Promote/Advance.


Program Overview

The proposed mentorship program will facilitate meaningful connections between:

Experienced Firefighters sharing their knowledge, expertise, and career guidance

Career-Focused Firefighters ranging from aspiring and early-career personnel to experienced firefighters seeking to specialize, excel, or enhance their operational strategies

    • One-on-one mentorship partnerships

    • Career development guidance

    • Skills and leadership development

    • Experience-sharing across different agencies and crews

    • Network building within the wildland fire community
